DespiteBoarders.com is a journal for East and Central European Studies, which has been published since 2004 by Society for Central and Eastern Europe. The goal of this project is to provide objective and balanced information about the Central European region, Post-Soviet states, Western Balkans and also Middle East and Far East. In terms of our territorial focus, it reflects findings primarily about home, foreign and security affairs and economic policies of states within the selected region. In 2013, this website with its content structure and design has been innovated and optimized. During this website improvement, we have launched two experimental subprojects – The law and language (for easy orientation of our stable readers in separate – bottom part of the site), which significantly widens thematic reach of offered content, such that the expert professional capacities of our editorial staff are utilised to their maximum. Thus the name of the magazine reflects not only the fact that its reach exceeds (does not ignore or deny) borders of states within examined region, but also the fact that due to the nature of its publishing work it covers the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research areas. The regional focus of social-scientific and humanity research is the integrating element, whereby it is an analytical project aimed at East and Central European Studies.
